Twitter Data Breach

by Artie Kaye

A bug that was patched at the start of 2022 by Twitter was exploited before it was fixed. Approximate 5.4 million users’ information was obtained from the attack. The harvested data can be used to link accounts to email addresses or phone numbers. No passwords were stolen according to Twitter. The data has reportedly been sold twice as of this writing. Twitter is contacting potentially compromised account holders and encourages its users to turn on two factor authentication to better secure your account.
