Google Begins Deleting Inactive Accounts, and Barracuda Exploit Forces Replacement
Google Deleting Inactive Accounts
by Artie Kaye
In an update to their services, Google has made it known that starting December 2023 accounts which have been inactive for at least two years are subject to deletion. Anything associated with the account such as email, videos, Google Drive content, will be gone along with the account. The company will attempt to contact via secondary email addresses to inform users before a deletion. To avoid a deletion there are simple methods that can be employed, including watching a video on YouTube, sending an email, or downloading an app from the store. The announcement from Google is below.

Barracuda Urges Replacement of Devices
by Artie Kaye
Last week, Barracuda patched a flaw in their Email Security Gateway products. (See also CISA Active Exploits – June 2023.) This week they have changed their stance and these devices should be replaced immediately. Companies rarely suggest the replacement of a device unless there is something unfixable or the device has reached end-of-life status. More information can be found in their statement linked below.
